Praying for Your Family

"One Year Bible" Old Testament Passage
Job 1:1-3:26

So it was, when the days of feasting had run their course, that Job would send and sanctify them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, "It may be that my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts." Thus Job did regularly. Job 1:5 (NKJV)

Job prayed for his family. He knew that in the course of daily and weekly activities, his sons may have done foolish and offensive things. Therefore, he regularly prayed for them asking that the Lord forgive and withhold judgment.

There is a special place of prayer that God grants us for our family members. This does not mean that they will not ultimately be responsible and answerable for their own actions. But, it does mean that you have a special place of authority to intercede in their behalf.

This is a godly duty granted to all parents for their children. So today, hold up the needs and the circumstances of your family. Touch heaven for your loved ones.
