The Importance of Your Thought Life

"One Year Bible" New Testament Passage (for Wed., Oct. 3, 2012)
Philippians 4:1-23

and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.  Philippians 4:7-8 (NKJV)

There is a battle over your thinking processes.  Your thought life serves as a gateway to virtually every other area of your life.  Nearly every action we take begins as a thought or impression.  As we feed those thoughts, they then can influence your emotions and your decisions.

If you are continually bombarded by thoughts of depression or rejection, you will live a life of defeat.  There is no way around it.  If you continually consider the negative conditions that surround you, you will become a complainer.  These things can settle in and become a part of your life.  In so doing, they can derail a life from the grand destiny God has planned.  YOUR THOUGHT LIFE IS IMPORTANT.

This is why time spent with Jesus is so vital.  We need to become acquainted with the personal ministry of the Holy Spirit as He inspires the written Word of God to minister to our hearts.  This is the reality in which we are to walk!

Communion with God will affect your thought life.  The things of God become dominant.  In this way, your thoughts set the stage for clear and accurate decision-making.  The result is PEACE.  So, fill your mind with good things.  The fruit will be heavenly.
