II Corinthians 11:16-33
30 If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness. II Corinthians 11:30 (NKJV)
Paul was a very strange person. He had an unusual way of looking at life. We find him saying some very counter-culture things. He boasted about things that others would consider negative or embarrassing. His greatest moments seemed to come in his most desparate circumstances.
Paul seemed to be at his best when his surroundings were at their worst. He could have bragged about a very impressive litany of scholarly and political accomplishments. He actually considered these to be rubbish (see Philippians 3). Instead, he saw his hardest times as his greatest times. It was in them that the glory of Christ shone brightest!
Your best moments are not the times you receive recognition or praise. Your greatest times are those when you are weakest and most dependant on the Lord. When you are most empty, you are then most filled. Like Paul, that makes you a very strange person. Actually, you belong to a different world - a different realm - a different kingdom. And that kingdom is all that matters.
