"One Year Bible" New Testament Passage (for Sat., Sept. 8, 2012)
II Corinthians 10:1-18
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds. II Corinthians 10:3-4 (NKJV)
We are called live in two worlds. This is fundamental to who we are as Christians. One world is the physical, outward, visible life that surrounds us. The other is the spiritual, hidden, invisible realm.
The Bible teaches that this visible world is temporary and is passing away. The invisible realm on which God exists is the REAL WORLD. This presents us with a continual battle. WE ARE CALLED TO BUILD OUR ENTIRE LIVES ON THAT WHICH WE CANNOT SEE OR PHYSICALLY PROVE!
There is a battle that surrounds your spiritual existence. The world, the flesh, and the devils sets up barriers to your progress. These barriers are called STRONGHOLDS. Part of our growth as believers is determined by our ability to conquer (to "pull down") these strongholds.
We must learn to use spiritual weapons if we desire to prevail in this battle. I am so glad that God has not left us defenceless. HE HAS EQUIPPED US! So today avail yourself of the weapons of warfare. With them, you can prevail.
