II Corinthians 6:1-13
We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain. II Corinthians 6:1 (NKJV)
Grace is more than a doctrine. It is a vital force that moves us in power. Grace imparts the ability to do that which otherwise we could not do.
So, what does it mean to receive the grace of God "in vain"? The Bibles speaks of the riches of God's grace, so let's think in terms of money.
If I were to give you a fortune - let's say a million dollars. You would then be the recipient of my gift to you. If, however, you never used any of that money - you never spent any, or used it in any way - it might be said that my gift was given "in vain". In other words, it accomplished nothing.
God wants His grace to be more than a gift received. He wants it to be a gift used. As such, grace becomes a mighty river that flows into your life and through you into a thirsty world. May the river of His grace flow through you today.
