The Atmosphere of Heaven

"One Year Bible" New Testament Passage (for Thurs., Sept. 6)
II Corinthians 8:16-24

providing honorable things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men. II Corinthians 8:21 (NKJV)

Honor is a rare commodity in the world. It is, however, an integral part of the Kingdom of God. The atmosphere of heaven is filled with honor. Too often, the atmosphere of earth is filled with criticism and offence.

We are called to reproduce the culture of heaven here on earth. The church is a colony of heaven that is commissioned to release the atmosphere of heaven. That means we must carry a divine attitude in all that we do.

When we do this, it elevates everything around us. It brings out the BEST in us. This a high vision. Too often, the church has been characterised by discord and criticism. In that climate, the seeds of the Kingdom of God rarely flourish and grow. In a climate of honor, the things of the Kingdom grow easily.

We honor the Lord and we honor one another by the things that we say and the gifts that we give. So today, you can spread the glory of God by the manner in which you show honor.
