Unshakable Faith

"One Year Bible" NewTestament Passage (for Sun., Aug. 12)
I Corinthians 7:25-40

For the form of this world is passing away. I Corinthians 7:31 (NKJV)

We live between two worlds. Our bodies and our responsibilities lie here in this life.  Our citizenship and our identity lies in the next. We are to live fully in this life while all the time moving with joy and anticipation toward the next.

Paul's instruction to us here is that we not hold on too tightly to the things of this world. THEY ARE PASSING AWAY. A new era is dawning and we are to walk with joy into all that God has for us.

All our weeping, all our rejoicing, all our possessing, and all our losing - all these are soon passing away.  So we are to live with an UNSHAKABLE FAITH. It is a faith built on things that transcend our present existence. They are eternal - and they are sure.

This is the key to powerful living. We are fully engaged in this world but this world is not our home. We are just passing through.
